I have been there, albeit my naked stranding was in my bathroom and it can get very cold in Scotland.

In reply to Brian S. :) many a win for me Bri:) And took a bit of solace in knowing that I WAS working out 7 days a week and my body was in better shape than it had ever been before (or at least since my 20s:) Could have been just after having the kids....now THAT would have been mortifying!!!:)

Meg, I’ve been to those calls. Totally understand your train of thought, but know that for most of us first responders, the dignity of the caller is priority. It is funny though, runnin into them at the grocery store and they can’t look at you. Either way, here you are writing and laughing about it. I call that a “win” for you!

HA! TRUE DAT SHERRI, although HAD I been one of THOSE calls, in some “sexually compromising position” would have meant that I HAD SEX….which was another of my on going issues at that time in my life:) That story is one of the chapters in the book that I wrote, and although I am a bit concerned about the fact that I might end up putting everything that is in the book on this blog, I am enjoying not only sharing, but revisiting what I have written. I have NOT looked at the book for the past three years; mostly because the parts about my failing marriage would leave me really upset. BUT now I am finding, that with time, and the help of friends and family, I have gotten stronger and even THOSE parts don’t bother me, and I can find reasons to laugh at some of that shit as well:)
Hope your dad is still getting better, and that he had an the great Father’s Day he deserves!

Aw Meg!

I managed a 9-1-1 center for many years. And let me tell you, we got these types of calls more often than you’d think. Naked calls. I always felt so bad for the callers. My responders were very cool though. They all carried robes & blankets in the vehicles. Not that helped alleviate the caller’s anxiety at all…but hopefully in the aftermath the caller would find some sense of dignity in it.

And let me say this…

At least you were alone and not in some sexually compromising position with some person of notoriety in the community who shouldn’t be in a sexually compromising position with anyone other than his wife! Oh yes….we got many of those calls too…

OMG!!!! That is too funny. I’m so sorry that happened to you. You couldn’t even crawl into the house? I guess that will teach you to not walk around naked! It is kinda like when your mom always tells you to wear nice undies b/c you never know when you’ll end up in the hospital and someone will see them. Lol!
